MAK Industrial Water Solutions specialises in the design, construction and supply of packaged Wastewater and Sewage Treatment Plants designed for both urban & remote locations.
Our sewage treatment plants are capable of treating effluent to “Class A” and are pre-tested prior to delivery to site. Commissioning and validation for compliance to the current Australian guidelines is also provided.
MAK’s clients include major resources companies, hotels and resorts, hospitals, oil and gas, other industrial sites and remote communities.

Membrane Bioreactor (MBR)
A Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR) type Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is a combination of two well proven processes used in wastewater treatment – biological degradation and membrane separation – into a single process where suspended solids and microorganisms responsible for biodegradation are separated from the treated water by the membrane filtration (UF) system.
MAK manufactures containerized MBR plants, whereby all the biological treatment tanks and membrane filtration system is housed within a compact 20 or 40 foot shipping container. These containerised plants are readily deployed and require minimal site work to install and commission.
In addition to the MBR, MAK can also provide all the auxiliary equipment such as Sewage Pump Wells, Inlet Screens and Influent/Effluent storage tanks.
Use of Recycled Wastewater
Treated effluent from Membrane Bioreactors meets the highest compliance standards set forth in the Guidelines for Use of Recycled Water in Western Australia (June 2011), and is suitable for reuse in a wide variety of applications, such as:
- Multi dwellings; internal use (toilet flushing & washing machines)
- Agricultural irrigation of food crops consumed raw or unprocessed
- Surface irrigation with unrestricted access and application
- Fire fighting
- Process water
- Dust suppression
- Construction water
- Wash down water
- Cooling tower make up water
- Stock watering, dairy cattle, grazing
- Industrial use with potential human exposure
In areas where Potable Water is scarce or costly to produce, recycling wastewater for use in non-potable applications makes both commercial and environmental sense.
Applications
Wastewater treatment is a cost effective and beneficial solution utilised across a range of industries. The most common applications are:
- Sewage treatment plants for remote work camps
- Recovery and filtration of industrial wastewater for reuse
- Filtration of flooded mine shafts & pits
- Dewatering & filtration of underground worksites
- Upgrading existing older plants to current specifications
- Upgrading for compliance with current Dept. Of Health guidelines
- Filtration of evaporation ponds for supply of reuse water
- Recovery of reuse water from existing sewerage pipe-lines
Supply of Consumables & Water Treatment Equipment
MAK stocks a wide range of consumables and parts for wastewater treatment. We maintain a supply of most commonly used parts in stock to limit down time for plant and equipment, including:
- Water treatment chemicals
- Filters
- Membranes
- UV Sterilizers
Plant Audits & Training
MAK can assist in providing training to plant operators, maintenance and engineering personnel. Our engineering and technical support team expertly manage and monitor your wastewater treatment project, providing exceptional client service and delivering outstanding results.
Our team of skilled engineers can provide plant reviews to understand how your existing plant is operating and provide assistance in improving operating efficiencies.
24 Hour Engineering & Technical Support
MAK offer 24 hour technical support and remote monitoring to ensure consistent and reliable water supply.
MAK can have a crew ready to mobilise to site by road or air, within 12 hours of receiving a call.
Automatic Remote Monitoring (telemetry) can be included in the design of any equipment, which can then be monitored to ensure plant efficiency is maintained.
Total Solution Engineering
MAK will design, build and install a water treatment system to your specifications. Simply supply the following information:
- Influent flow rate
- Influent parameters
- Required effluent parameters
All MAK water treatment equipment is thoroughly tested in our workshop, so when it arrives on site it is ready to operate.
