Plumber/Pipe Fitter

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the principle focus of this role is the fabrication and assembly of various Water Treatment Plants. Based in our Malaga workshop, day to day duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Light mechanical assembly work
  • Installation of pumps, pipework, filters etc
  • UPVC pipework preparation and installation
  • Installing instrumentation
  • Pressure testing and commissioning
  • Occasional travel to site for plant installation

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

The successful application will:

  • Have a mechanical fitting / plumbing qualification
  • 3 years experience in a mechanical fabrication / workshop environment
  • Have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Have previous experience in water treatment and plastic pipework: desirable
  • Be able to work as part of a team 
  • Take pride in your work and produce a quality product
  • Demonstrate initiative and flexibility of approach
  • Have the ability to communicate and document information
  • Have attention to detail

FIFO Operator - Water Treatment

THE ROLE

This FIFO role is working 14 days on (including travel) and 14 days off rosters ex-Brisbane, Townsville or Rockhampton. The role is working 10 hours per day.

The principle focus of this role is to:

  • Operate and maintain the Water Treatment Facilities
  • Carry out routine and reactive maintenance
  • Trouble shoot process issues
  • Prepare activity and work order reports
  • Maintain plant inventories
  • Communicate with site operations personnel
  • Assist with additional site requirements eg pipe installation and repair fittings, upgrades etc.
  • Assisting in the management of asset registers and asset life cycle

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Current QLD Plumbing Licence is essential
  • Certificate III/ IV in Sewage Treatment Plant/Waste Water Treatment Plant is essential
  • Minimum 2 years’ operational experience
  • Computer/iPad literacy
  • Demonstrated problem solving capability
  • Initiative to manage unexpected issues independently
  • Good communication skills
  • Water treatment experience

 

As these roles are based on a QLD coal mine, applicants with experience working on similar sites and holding White Card, Standard 11 Certificate, Mining Supervisor (S123) and Coal Board Medical will be looked at favourably, but this is not essential.

Service Technician

THE ROLE

We have a vacancy for a Service Technician to join the Queensland team.  Your work will predominantly be in the field covering Brisbane and the surrounding area, with some travel to sites in regional Queensland.  Reporting to the QLD Service Manager core duties include:

  • Completing scheduled preventative maintenance to clients' water treatment plants
  • Completing reactive and breakdown maintenance when required
  • Reporting service outcomes
  • Take responsibility for service outcomes to improve customer satisfaction
  • Assist with system upgrades and improvements
  • Participate in water treatment plant commissioning

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

The successful application will:

  • Hold a relevant trade qualification (mechanical / plumbing / electrical)
  • Cert 3 or 4 in Water Operations is desirable
  • Have a valid Australian Driver’s Licence and clean driving record
  • Water treatment industry experience preferred
  • Strong problem solving capability and technical skills
  • Have effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to interpret engineering drawings and write service reports
  • Be comfortable working independently
  • Be flexible to travel to site

Project Engineer

THE ROLE

MAK Water currently have a vacancy for an experienced Project Engineer managing the end to end process of designing, manufacturing and commissioning of water treatment plants. The role requires the individual to be a motivated, self-starter working within a team of Engineers and Draftspersons ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time and on budget. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the principle focus of this role is to:

  • Manage projects from design to commissioning 
  • Oversee fabrication in MAK Water workshop
  • Factory testing and then site commissioning
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and supplies
  • Provide technical support and solutions to assist in preparation of estimates, quotes and tenders

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold an Engineering qualification - mechanical / process or chemical
  • Have proven experience in designing and project management of process plants
  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience 
  • Have a proactive, constructive approach to resolving problems
  • Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Value safety and quality in all project deliveries

THE ROLE

The role is FIFO and will see you work a 2 weeks on 2 weeks off rotation ex-Perth, WA. You will be expected to work day shift. 

The principle focus of this role is to:
