On 26 January 2020 (Australia Day) MAK Water Chairman, Peter Hood was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to business and commerce at the state, national and international level, and to the resources sector.
Peter Hood AO was the chief executive of Coogee Resources, a company involved in the exploration and production of oil and gas in the Timor Sea. Prior to that, he was chief executive of Coogee Chemicals where he oversaw a period of significant growth in the company’s enterprise value, and served in senior management & project development roles for WMC in nickel & gold production. Mr Hood has considerable board experience and is president of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, past president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, and former chair of Apollo Gas.
