SEA WATER REVERSE OSMOSIS
MAK Water’s Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) plants are designed to treat sea water, or high salinity ground water, with < 40,000 mg/L of dissolved solids (TDS) and < 30 mg/L of suspended solids (TSS), to achieve potable water quality.
The standard treatment process involves pre filtration (auto-backwashing multimedia filters and cartridge filters), anti-scalant dosing to prevent membrane scaling, RO desalination and auto flushing and CIP systems for membrane cleaning. Additional pre-RO and post-RO treatment steps may be added as required to suit feed water conditions and/or treated water quality requirements.
The MAK SWRO plants are available as skid mounted or containerised systems.

Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis
MAK Water’s Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) desalination plants are designed to treat ground/surface or industrial water with <5,000 mg/L of dissolved solids (TDS) and <30 mg/L of suspended solids (TSS), to achieve potable water quality. The standard treatment process involves pre filtration (auto-backwashing multimedia filters and cartridge filters), anti-scalant dosing to prevent membrane scaling, RO desalination and a CIP system for membrane cleaning.
Additional pre-RO and post-RO treatment steps may be added as required to suit feed water conditions and/or treated water quality requirements. The MAK BWRO plants are available as skid mounted or containerised systems.

When it comes to effective brackish water desalination systems, MAK Water deliver an exceptional industrial solution. If you have specific requirements for your Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis system, contact us to discuss our custom designed desalination plants or ask about our hire options.
Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis – Basic
MAK Water’s Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis – Basic (BWROB) plants are pre-engineered products, designed to suit simple applications where a high level of electrical instrumentation and controls is not required, and the feed water quality falls within the parameters defined in this data sheet.
The standard treatment process involves pre-filtration (5 and 1 micron cartridge filters) and RO desalination. The BWROB is designed to operate continuously until the permeate tank is filled, or feed water is unavailable.
The BWROB is available with a pre-determined number of standard options and is supplied with a generic documentation package.

Demineralised Water Reverse Osmosis
MAK Water’s Demineralised Water Reverse Osmosis (DMRO) Plants are designed to treat fresh water, with < 1,000 mg/L of dissolved solids (TDS) and < 30 mg/L of suspended solids (TSS), to produce high purity demineralised water with TDS < 1 mg/L. The standard treatment process involves pre filtration (auto-backwashing multimedia filters and cartridge filters), anti-scalant dosing to prevent membrane scaling, two-pass RO desalination and a CIP system for membrane cleaning; with the inclusion of optional mixed bed ion exchange or continuous electro-deionization (CEDI), TDS < 0.1 mg/L can be achieved.
Additional pre-RO and post-RO treatment steps may be added as required to suit feed water conditions and/or treated water quality requirements. The MAK DMRO plants are available as skid mounted or containerised systems.

Reverse Osmosis Desalination
Desalination is the removal of dissolved salts from water. Desalination can take place through the process of reverse osmosis (RO) or distillation. In most applications, reverse osmosis is the most practical way of desalinating water.
Osmosis is a process found in all biological systems, resulting in water from a dilute solution passing spontaneously through a semi-permeable membrane into a more concentrated solution on the other side.
Reverse osmosis achieves the separation of dissolved salts and impurities from a water solution by means of pressure exerted on a semi-permeable membrane. The salts are unable to pass through the membrane and are collected in a concentrated form. Treated water is known as permeate and the process can be repeated one or more times to further concentrate the brine and reduce the percentage of rejected concentrate water.
Reverse osmosis desalination is the most technologically advanced method of purifying water from a range of sources including sea, river, mains, bore, artesian or surface. MAK Water’s industrial reverse osmosis systems ensure the highest levels of productivity gain, equipment longevity and improved water recovery.
