SENTINEL UV Reactors

UV disinfection with SENTINEL UV systems provides a proven barrier to harmful pathogens that can be present in source water. This includes bacteria, viruses and chlorine-resistant protozoa such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia. All SENTINEL UV reactors have undergone third party validation under the U.S. EPA LT2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule guidelines (USEPA UVDGM).

C3 Series In-Channel UV Systems

The C3 Series in-channel UV systems offer a cost-effective solution to wastewater and reuse disinfection. The newest innovation of the product range is the C3 500D system, which is completely modular and scalable, and can be precisely sized to any application requirement. The C3 500D system can be installed in open (concrete) channels or can be supplied as a Packaged System with lamp racks installed in a stainless-steel tank. The control system provides automated closed-loop dose pacing or flow pacing for secondary and tertiary wastewater applications. Additionally, the efficient mixing provided by the delta wing has been proven for demanding reuse and low-quality effluent applications.

UV – Industrial

MAK Water’s UV Disinfection (UV) systems are an effective and economical means for disinfection of water. UV disinfection instantly kills bacteria, parasites and viruses by passing the water past an Ultra Violet light source, which damages the DNA of these organisms.

UV disinfection systems should be installed as close as possible to the point of end use, as the effect of a UV disinfection is only temporary – the water may become re- contaminated when stored in tanks or even in pipe work downstream of a UV disinfection system.

MAK UV systems are designed to deliver a UV dose > 40 mJ/cm2 @ 95% Ultra Violet Transmittance (UVT). The MAK UV systems are available as skid mounted units or as an addition to containerised water treatment systems.

Sodium Hypochlorite Disinfection – Recirculated

MAK Water’s Sodium Hypochlorite Disinfection Recirculated (SHDR) are designed to automatically maintain the correct amount of free chlorine in a potable water storage tank, in accordance with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG). The standard treatment process includes a recirculation pump to turn over the contents of the potable water storage tank twice in a 24 hour period, an inline chlorine analyser which monitors residual free chlorine and a dosing pump to automatically dose liquid sodium hypochlorite as required.

The system components are sized to suit the potable water storage tank and daily water usage. Options are provided for duty standby recirculation and dosing pumps to improve plant reliability. MAK Sodium Hypochlorite Disinfection Recuirculated plants are available skid mounted for installation inside a building, or containerised with air conditioning to avoid chlorine degradation.

Sodium Hypochlorite Disinfection – Flow Paced

MAK Water’s Sodium Hypochlorite Disinfection Flow (SHDF) plants are designed to automatically maintain the correct amount of free chlorine in an existing reticulation line, in accordance with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG). The standard treatment process includes an inline chlorine analyser which monitors residual free chlorine and a dosing pump to automatically dose liquid sodium hypochlorite as required, into the potable or treated water pipeline.

The system components are sized to suit the required chlorine usage rate and the sodium hypochlorite storage tank refill frequency. Options are provided for duty standby dosing pumps to improve plant reliability, a flow transmitter, a static mixer if required to improve mixing. MAK Sodium Hypochlorite Disinfection Flow plants are available as either skid mounted for internal or external installations, or containerised with air conditioning to avoid chlorine degradation.

Water disinfection is critical to ensure the safety of any potable water supply.

Chlorination is a highly effective way to disinfect potable water, and can be dosed into the water as a chlorine gas (Cl2) or as a liquid (12.5% Sodium Hypochlorite). The major advantage of chlorine is its residual disinfection effect; it ensures disinfection right up to the point of end use.

When water is stored for extended periods, the residual level of free chlorine should be monitored, and topped up as required.
