Water Treatment Company Makes Waves in Niche Market

February 9th, 2012

Since new management came in almost five years ago, the 17-year-old company has gone from strength to strength, securing contracts with numerous major industry players despite gruelling tender processes. Recent contracts include end users such as Pacific National Rail, Queensland Rail, EDI Rail, University of the Sunshine Coast, TAFE Queensland, Komatsu, BHP and BMA and major projects such as Australia Pacific LNG and Gladstone LNG in Queensland.

Clearmake™ says its core focus is on assisting clients in the resources, transport, industrial, education and manufacturing sectors who are seeking to protect the environment, meet compliance requirements, reduce mains water usage and maximise their water efficiency.

“The key is our expertise and ability to be responsive and flexible.  We are able to design and locally manufacture water treatment solutions that are custom-designed to meet each client’s site specific needs,” says Owner and Managing Director of Clearmake™, David Lumb.

For example, Clearmake™ has recently been contracted to deliver a system that treats lake water, making it suitable for use in an industrial cooling tower; systems for dust suppression; and for remote sites, containerised and skid-mounted water treatment systems to provide water for vehicle wash down facilities and drinking water, plus wastewater treatment for safe discharge to the environment.

“We are always looking for design and operational improvements, regularly reviewing the market and developing our product, people and service to deliver what our clients need – which is almost always experienced design advice, a well built, effective solution with a service contract and sound warranty,” says Mr Lumb.

Clearmake™ is a prime example of how to capitalise on Australia’s two-speed economy – working for mining, but not in the mines.

Over the last 5 years the company has expanded their offering of product design, manufacture, installation and commissioning to also include service contracts and maintenance of client systems.  This includes remote monitoring for remote sites.
