MAK Water has continued its expansion with a New South Wales wastewater treatment business joining the MAK Water Group.
Baldwin Industrial Systems is a Newcastle business specialising in oil separation and industrial wastewater treatment, with an established installed base and service clients across Australia.
MAK Water Group Chief Executive Officer Andy Byk said the addition of Baldwin strengthens the ability to support clients managing technically challenging wastewater and expands its ability to service clients across Australia, particularly in the oil and gas and manufacturing industries.
“Baldwin’s proven technology means we’re better positioned to support industrial clients across Australia, while continuing to invest in engineering, manufacturing and service capability here in Western Australia,” he said.
“This builds on the addition of ClearmakeTM in 2013 and Water Treatment Services in 2021, supporting long‑term growth and helping industrial clients manage increasingly complex wastewater challenges.”
MAK Water chairman and director of Matrix Composites, Cue Energy, and GR Engineering Peter Hood AO said the addition of Baldwin supports the growth strategy of building specialist capability to meet the evolving needs of industrial clients.
“Bringing Baldwin into the MAK Water Group strengthens our technical depth and positions the business to grow through smart, sustainable water solutions,” Mr Hood said.
MAK Water now offers all Baldwin’s products including RM 10 single step complex water treatment technology, coalescing plate oil water separators and oil skimming products, which complement MAK Water’s existing oil water and industrial wastewater treatment portfolio.
The directors of Baldwin Industrial Systems Steve Sheehan, Scott Jensen and Robert Crawford selected MAK Water Group due to the strong cultural alignment between the two businesses.
“MAK Water understands the complexity of industrial wastewater. Being part of the MAK Water Group enhances the ability to support clients as wastewater challenges become more complex,” they said.
The addition of Baldwin further strengthens MAK Water’s position as a provider of scalable, compliant industrial wastewater solutions, supporting growth from its Malaga headquarters while expanding national service capability and contributing to a more sustainable water future.
