Packaged Sewage Pump Station (PSPS)

MAK Water’s Packaged Sewage Pump Stations (PSPS) are designed to receive raw domestic strength sewage into a below ground collection tank. The raw sewage is macerated to ≤ 2mm particle size, before discharging to a wastewater treatment plant for treatment. The standard package includes a polyethylene tank with access cover and all required PVC pipework, valves and fittings, dual macerator pumps, controller and float level switches.

Fine Screen Filter (SALSNES)

In a Salsnes Filter system solids separation, sludge thickening and dewatering are performed in one compact unit, removing >50% TSS, >20% BOD and producing dry sludge (20–30% DM). A Salsnes Filter system can completely replace conventional primary treatment and does so in a fraction of the footprint, at 30– 60% lower capital cost and with significantly lower total lifecycle costs. What’s more, sludge handling, transportation and disposal costs are drastically reduced. Today, Salsnes Filter systems are installed around the world in a variety of applications within municipal wastewater treatment plants and in challenging industrial solids separation applications.

Screw Separators

The REKO Screw Separators are free-standing units used for the separation of settling solids from waste water and process water by means of sedimentation. It requires low investment and very little maintenance.

Liquid is fed to the reservoir, where fast settling solids, e.g. sand, will fall to the bottom of the hopper leaving the clarified liquid to leave the reservoir via an overflow. The settled solid will then be transported from the reservoir via an inclined screw con­veyor to the discharge port and by doing so means that a relatively dry product will be discharged at the end of the conveyor

Oil Water Separator (OWS)

Designed for highly contaminated trade waste and wash down wastewater treatment, MAK Water oil water separators (or solids separators) will remove oil and suspended solids from water. Quick and easy to install, separators can treat from 720L/h to >250,000L/h of wastewater. Independently tested to achieve less than 5 mg/L hydrocarbons in treated water from a heavily contaminated raw water source containing 5000mg/L hydrocarbons.

Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)

MAK Water’s Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) systems are superior counter current systems designed to achieve maximum treatment efficiency in a compact footprint. It is able to remove a variety of contaminants to meet trade waste or reuse requirements. Each system is sized based on the hydraulic loading rate. Lamella Inclined Plate Clarifier (LAMELLA)

The MAK Water Lamella Clarifier is fitted with a plate pack to maximise the effective settling area of the unit and a conical sludge hopper in a small footprint. Lamella clarifiers are ideal for applications where the solid loading is variable and solid sizing is fine. Lamella Clarifiers are considered to be one of the best options for pre-treatment ahead of more sophisticated treatment technologies because of their ability to remove a significant solids loading. The MAK Water Lamella Clarifier can be integrated into a treatment process or as a stand-alone unit. Typical applications are for separation of grit or metal removal or any other application where the solids have a specific gravity >1.0.

Pump Station

MAK Water’s “Clearmake” Pump Station is designed to transfer water to a local sewer connection or to a downstream treatment process cost-effectively when gravity cannot assist. The water is collected in an industrial grade slimline poly tank located above ground, which contains a submersible pump and float switch. These are installed in the tank and can be easily removed if required. The tank is designed for immediate installation to external pipework, and has a compact footprint.

Ultrafiltration (UF)

MAK Water’s Ultrafiltration plants are designed to treat surface water, tertiary treated effluent, storm water and waste water to achieve potable/process water or may be used as pre-treatment to reverse osmosis. They treat a wide range of highly variable waters with <300 NTU of turbidity and <150 mg/L of suspended solids. The standard treatment process includes pre filtration (150 micron screen filter), Ultrafiltration process, Air Scour System, Maintenance Clean System and CIP/Recovery Clean system for membrane cleaning.

Water Softening with Ion Exchange

MAK Water’s Water Softening plants (WSP) are designed to reduce hardness from water sources that may have negative downstream implications such as scaling of pipework and equipment. The WSP contains resin beads charged with sodium ions. When the hardness ions come in contact with the resin beads the hardness ions are collected and the sodium ions are released, thereby softening the water via ion exchange. The WSP automatically completes a regeneration cycle whereby the filter is backwashed and the resin recharged with sodium ions via the brine regeneration tank.

Demineralisation/Deionisation with Ion Absorption

MAK Water’s Deionisation (MAKPAK) Plants are designed to treat mains supplied potable water, with a typical conductivity of < 60 μS/cm, to produce high purity deionised water with a conductivity of < 3 μS/cm. The standard treatment process involves two mixed bed ion exchange vessels in series with a yes/no indicator positioned between vessel one and vessel two. When the conductivity of the water output from vessel one rises above 3 μS/cm, an alarm and visual indicator will alert an operator to take vessel one off line for change out, leaving the second vessel to stay online to continue treating.

Screen Filter (SF)

Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT)

MAK Water’s “Clearmake” Gross Pollutant Traps (GPT) treat rain and storm water runoff from hardstand or car park areas. The GPT protects the storm water system and the surrounding environment from contaminants such as silt, hydrocarbons, and other debris that can accumulate and be washed off of hardstand and car park areas. MAK Water “Clearmake” GPTs are a cost effective alternative to larger concrete GPTs, which are more expensive to purchase and more time consuming to install. MAK Water “Clearmake” GPTs are compliant with local Council and Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (DEHP) requirements.

Hydrocarbon Spill Control (SCOWS)

MAK Water spill control systems automatically identify and contain a hydrocarbon or chemical spill and are compliant with local council, and DERM (EPA) requirements. They are designed to allow for manual or automatic activation and can be engineered to suit the customer's site specific needs as well as meeting local council regulations. MAK spill control systems come pre-assembled and ready for easy installation. All flow rates can be catered for. Spill control systems are fully automated to minimise operator involvement and ensure reliable performance. Quick Break Detergents & Degreasers

MAK Water detergents & degreasers ensure optimal equipment performance. They offer an effective quick break action to maintain equipment and environmental compliance, superior cleaning, plus they’re biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

Products are Green Stamp approved.

After temporarily emulsifying oil and dirt into the wash down water during the cleaning process, Quick Break detergents and degreasers separate the oil and dirt from the clean water following the wash down process. More than 90% of the oil rises to the surface within 30 minutes of wash down. The oil is then easily separated from the clean water in a collection pit or in the separator. Use of the right quick break detergents & degreasers significantly improves the efficiency, reducing the operational cost, of your water treatment or recycling system.
