Biocombi Treatment Plant

The Biocombi Treatment Plant (BCTP) is designed to treat domestic strength sewage to achieve “Class C” treated effluent quality suitable for reuse in “risk category low” applications or for discharge to environment. With the optional “Class A” upgrade, treated effluent quality suitable for reuse in “risk category medium” applications is achieved.

Biological treatment in the Biocombi Treatment Plant (BCTP) is provided by the Biocombi equipment that uses Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) attached growth technology and cloth media filtration for solids separation (clarification) incorporated in a single packaged unit. The standard treatment process includes influent screening, primary settling and flow balancing, Biocombi treatment followed by effluent disinfection with disinfectant dosing.

The optional “Class A” upgrade includes effluent disinfection by dosing disinfectant and recirculation in treated effluent tank, with analysers for online monitoring of free chlorine, pH and turbidity..

Infrastructure

The Centre for National Resilience was established to provide critical infrastructure capable of responding rapidly to global outbreaks and national emergency requirements. The project required a reliable and flexible wastewater treatment solution that could support a facility constructed from bare earth to full operation within an extremely compressed six-month timeframe. Due to the variable number of occupants expected at the facility, the wastewater treatment system needed to accommodate fluctuating inflows while maintaining treatment performance, operational reliability and compliance with environmental requirements. The client required a solution that could adapt to changing demand without compromising efficiency, sustainability or public health outcomes.
