Hyperbolic Mixer

The DBS Hyperbolic Mixer is an advanced mixing solution for flocculation, suspension, homogenisation, and subsurface aeration in water and wastewater treatment processes. Its innovative rotor design ensures efficient mixing by operating at the bottom of the basin, where it draws water downward and discharges it horizontally. This induced flow circulates the water from bottom to top, maintaining all solids and/or chemicals in suspension for optimal process performance.

Key Features

1. Superior Energy Efficiency
Energy efficiency is a critical factor in modern water treatment operations. The DBS Hyperbolic Mixer is engineered to minimise energy consumption while maximising water movement. Its backwards-curved pump blades are specifically designed to move large volumes of water with minimal power input. Additionally, the high-efficiency speed reducer minimises power losses, resulting in optimum conversion of power input into water mixing energy.

2. Exceptional Durability and Reliability
The DBS Hyperbolic Mixer is built for longevity and high performance. The speed reducer is selected with a service factor that exceeds 100,000 hours of calculated life, ensuring long-term reliability. Heavy-duty output bearings provide robust support against all loads imposed by the rotor, eliminating the need for a lower guide bearing. The oversized drive shaft and sturdy mounting base minimise lateral rotor deflection and vibrations, ensuring stable and consistent operation.

3. High-Quality Materials for Corrosion Resistance
All wetted parts are manufactured from AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel to provide excellent corrosion resistance in demanding environments. For applications involving highly saline or aggressive wastewaters, special coatings and materials are available to further enhance durability and performance. These include Super Duplex stainless steel, FRP, Carbon Fiber, Aluminium and Nickel/Monel.

4. Customisation Options
The DBS Hyperbolic Mixer is available in standard configurations ranging from 1 HP (0.75 kW) to 30 HP (22 kW). For projects with unique requirements, custom designs can be provided to ensure the mixer meets specific process needs.

Applications

The DBS Hyperbolic Mixer is widely used in water and wastewater treatment applications, where it delivers reliable and efficient mixing for various processes, including:

  • Flocculation: Promotes the formation of flocs for improved sedimentation and filtration
  • Suspension: Maintains solids in suspension to prevent settling and clogging
  • Homogenisation: Ensures uniform distribution of chemicals, solids, or temperature
  • Subsurface Aeration: Provides mixing that improves oxygen transfer in biological treatment processes.

Using a customer’s tank design details, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis can be used to simulate and demonstrate the mixing performance of the DBS Hyperbolic Mixer.

The DBS Hyperbolic Mixer is the ideal choice for facilities looking to enhance efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and ensure reliable operation in demanding environments. With its proven performance and advanced design, it meets the needs of modern water and wastewater treatment while supporting sustainable operations.

Lagoon Master Aerator

The Lagoon Master Aerator is ideally suited to provide aeration and mixing in shallow pond/lagoon wastewater treatment systems. The Lagoon Master Aerator has two (2) independently operating regenerative blowers, each feeding air to a bubble-forming diffuser grid. The 1st blower runs continuously feeding the rear most coarse bubble diffuser grid, which creates motive action resulting in horizontal and vertical mixing. The 2nd blower supplies air to fine-bubble diffusers that increases the dissolved oxygen in the water column, and through the motive mechanism created by the coarse bubbles, also provides an oxygenated plume that brings dissolved oxygen into the sludge layer at the bottom. These processes allow for gentle sludge turnover and continual sludge digestion.

The Lagoon Master Aerator is available in 2 versions: Version 1 (V1) has the blowers mounted on top of the unit, and Version 2 (V2) has the blowers mounted on the pond/lagoon embankment. The only maintenance required on the Lagoon Master Aerator involves cleaning the stainless steel air intake filter on each blower. These filters will last for years but occasional cleaning is required.

    • Aeration & mixing with low power input
    • Destratification of water column
    • Odour elimination
    • Reducing algal growth
    • Organic breakdown of settled sludge
    • Reduces/eliminates sludge build-up
    • Easy to install
    • Simple to operate
    • Low maintenance, no moving parts
    • Low power consumption

The Reliant Lagoon Master Water-Moving and Sludge Activating Aeration System is not a standard aerator; Lagoon Master systems continuously move water along the bottom of a lagoon or pond, delivering large amounts of dissolved oxygen (DO) very efficiently, using minimal energy. Compared to standard paddlewheel, vortex, static tube, hose diffusion, spray (fountain), or aspirating aerators, Lagoon Masters” is more efficient, less costly to operate, and requires less maintenance.

Floating Brush Aerators

Floating Brush Aerators are ideally suited for operation in municipal sewage treatment lagoons, especially shallow lagoon applications where vertical shaft-type aerators cannot operate.

In a lagoon Floating Brush Aerators move the wastewater horizontally and create a circular flow pattern to prevent short-circuiting, and maximising lagoon treatment capacity. The horizontal mixing circulates highly oxygenated water throughout the lagoon, creating an oxygen cap to reduce odours from anaerobic breakdown of settled sludge.

The effective mixing provided by Floating Brush Aerators is also useful to create mixed conditions to minimise algal growth, and to redistribute accumulated sludge more evenly over the entire floor/base of the lagoon, thus improving lagoon treatment capacity & performance.

Floating Brush Aerators are also suitable for aeration in oxidation ditches, Pasveer channels, SBRs, equalization basins and aerobic digesters of all sizes and configurations.
